1: Dhagadu Seth

The Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati in Pune is one of the oldest Ganpatis in the country. It has a special idol called Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh. This unique Ganesha style is very popular in Pune. The Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesha has a history spanning over a hundred years and has been part of the Ganeshotsav celebration since 1893, when Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak introduced the big public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. The trust of Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati helps set up and guide Ganesh groups in different places in Maharashtra. These groups, associated with Dagdusheth Ganesh, perform ‘aarti’ at the same time all across Maharashtra.

2: Shaniwarwada

Shaniwarwada is an old fort in Pune that was built in 1732 by a leader named Peshwa Baji Rao I. It was like the main home and office for the rulers back then. The fort has a neat design with wooden pillars and pretty windows. Today, it’s a special place, showing off Pune’s awesome history and culture!

3: Aga khan palace

The Aga Khan Palace holds a special place in the freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi was kept there as a prisoner in the 1940s, making it famous. Built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III, it was meant to help people hit by famine in Pune. The palace covers 19 acres. It has a two-story building with pretty Italian arches, wooden floors, and stone details.

4: Shivneri fort

Shivneri Fort, located near Pune. It is the birthplace of the legendary Maratha leader, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was the founder of the Maratha Empire. This 17th-century fort, located near Junnar on the northern side of Pune district, holds an important place in the history of Maharashtra. Inside the fort is a small temple dedicated to the goddess Shivai Devi, after whom Shivaji was named.

5: Lal Mahal

Lal Mahal, a striking red palace in Pune. It is one of the most famous monuments where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj spent his childhood. The campus has various galleries depicting the life and values of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Lal Mahal recreates and provides a virtual experience of various facets of the glorious life of the great king.

6: Sinhagadh fort

Sinhagad fort is the nearest hill fort to Pune, located around 25 km southwest of the city Formerly known as Kondana, the fort witnessed the heroic Battle of Sinhagad, featuring the legendary Tanaji Malusare. The fort interior retains a few buildings of interest: a memorial to Tanaji, the tomb of Rajaram Chhatrapati, military stables, a brewery, an animation store (Barud Khana), and a temple of goddess Kali.

7: Mini-Tirupati

The Narayanpur Balaji Mandir is a popular temple in Pune. The temple architecture is very similar to Tirupati Balaji Temple. People come to seek blessings and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. 8: Karla Caves

Karla Caves are located near Pune. They are ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves that date back to the 2nd century BC. It is carved from a single rock. 9: Bhimashankar Temple

Bhimashankar Temple, situated in the scenic Sahyadri range near Pune, is a peaceful Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. In the temple sanctum, the Linga is exactly at the centre of the floor, which is a special feature of Bhimashankar Temple. Bhimashankar has been declared a wildlife sanctuary; it is a reserved forest area, and as it is part of the Western Ghats, it is rich in flora and fauna.

10: Lavasa
